not exactly a it's a half vent have right, but I feel relieved now. I'm glad they all left the community and started their own psl group, it just proves to me and everyone else that they were a clique and they were as unfriendly as they came across.
Now the entire community has a different vibe, a much happier one like we were all being forced not to update or interact before because of rude, uncalled for comments or new posts belittling whatever character did something they didn't like.
I feel now everyone is much safer and happier and it will survive without anyone practically forcing folks out of the community. It was getting ridiculous. Plus, it opened up a lot of popular faces that were just dead weight/being roll-hogged.
Thank you for being petty and removing so this community can live up to it's full potential now.

You can't get all angry at someone for not doing what you wanted them to do if you don't actually communicate to them what it was you wanted to be done. Goddamn, we aren't psychics so reading minds is a little beyond us at the moment.

Spamming pbads isn't cool when it's a whole group of members but when it's the mod journal making three posts in a row within ten minutes, it's so much more annoying. Sadly this isn't the first time you've done it and I've seen other people comment asking you to stop too only to have their comments deleted immediately. That attitude will only piss people off, not make them want to join you.

Its comment masturbation, that's what it is. When your two characters are talking to each other about screwing each other, its like your screwing yourself.

I really didn't want to pull him. His SLs are what have kept me there this long and I love the people I've been writing with, but the anon bullshit was dragging me down as a writer. I didn't expect the anon journal to be deleted and I know a new one is just going to pop back up. So I shouldn't want to take back my decision, but damn I'm going to miss my SLPs and lines. I'm afraid even reconsidering it, it'll be taken with backlash, because it's just considered "attention seeking" but that really wasn't it.
Anon journals create a toxic writing environment oocly. Many people cannot keep the ooc/ic line separate. It ruins games. I couldn't write him without expecting anything I write to be torn apart by the passive aggressive crap and the things people say even anonymously tend to change a person's prospective on a character. Things were great for him ICly. But maybe I'm weak. One person can only take so much negativity before it doesn't seem worth it.
Damn it.

Having an SL partner who admits to being less in to your stuff, and subsequently leaves you to do most of the dirty work.
Then you figure, I'll show you and not post at all. Then they post or bug you to post, eventually, so the SL's they were more into (it divides into your play too, not just their stuff with you and with others) and leave the rest to rot.
Fun fun fun.

I'm glad that we are picky, because the players we've gathered are the most awesome bunch of win I've ever seen. They're mature, they don't cross IC/OOC lines, and I get all excited reading their threads. It's in-depth, it's character development and plot development and it's fucking tasty. And they're all so awesomely friendly. Oh, guys. Ilu so much.

| oh, modly vent, how much I need you. |
[Friday // 11.27.09(12:54am)] |
1.) It's not the fact that ~pbads has been flooded lately with comms like the one I mod. It's the fact that people are joining those games and then complaining two weeks later about wanting a similar game because that new one flared up and then died out, like dozens do every year. And I want to just shake people and be like, 'hello. Been here the whole time. Thanks.' I mean, I understand it's a little harder to get into our comm than it is to join these newbie ones, but maybe that's why we've lasted. Just a thought.
2.) 'Picky' is not the same as 'clique-y'.
3.) By the by, if you misspell a dozen words (including, but no limited to, the location the comm is set in) in your application? Yeah, that's probably going to be why you're rejected. If you're willing to put forth the effort it takes to apply to the comm, you should probably read over your application before you submit it and ensure that you haven't made obvious fails like that. It's a really easy fix. Spellcheck is kinda useful.
4.) The tag 'supernatural' shouldn't be so intimidating when coupled with what would otherwise be a standard community. And I don't understand why it is, or why so many people are like 'SRY YOU GUYS BE SUPERNATURAL I CAN'T JOIN.' IDGI. I'd understand if our tag of 'supernatural' was accompanied with characters that are werewolves or vampires or capable of psionics or whatever, but it isn't. And if you read a little bit beyond the 'supernatural dark spooky' tag that's on our opening page, you'd get that.
5.) THERE ARE NO TACO BELLS ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE. Google is your friend. Put a little bit of effort into your characters, please.
God, I've been stockpiling this one for awhile. I'm done now. Gonna go breathe.

Journal the first, a part of the gaming we do, I actually created and gave to you in a certain month.
You made the one you play elsewhere a month later. It's left almost 1500 comments.
The one I gave you? Less than 350.
It's not about quantity, but it makes me feel like I really don't measure up to the elsewhere. Which happens. But I think it's human to feel sad about that.

Ok random vent You leave a game or get dropped and you get removed from the comms. I understand the reasoning but... that also blocks you out of being able to view any threads you've done that are friends locked and that's isn't entirely fair.

I understand AIM conversations dying out. It happens IRL. I also understand if it happens after a few minutes in RP. Not all characters click, and sometimes, even when they do, the conversation isn't flowing. It's all good.
However, it shouldn't happen EVERY TIME you IM me, and it DEFINITELY shouldn't happen after three messages. Especially when every single IM convo goes that way. 95% of the time it's you dying out. The other 5% of the time I get tired of one word answers. Why bother to IM me if you aren't actually going to talk?
And why do you do it ICly AND OOCly?!?!
